Jeff Valentic, MS

Senior Director - Engagement Principal

Jeff transforms how organizations understand and govern their most valuable asset: data. As Senior Director at Ember Group Consulting, he builds the kind of compliant, intelligent data ecosystems that turn regulatory requirements into competitive advantages.

His expertise was honed over nine years at General Motors, where he led information governance and transformation initiatives that touched every corner of the enterprise. When GM divested OPEL, Jeff orchestrated the complex data transition. When defense programs needed CMMC-aligned cybersecurity, he built frameworks that satisfied both auditors and operators. His work ensured that data governance wasn’t just a compliance checkbox—it was the foundation for secure digital transformation across ERP, HRM, cloud analytics, and defense systems.

Before GM, Jeff directed technical delivery at Ally Financial, managing enterprise programs from Basel II capital calculations to AML fraud detection. His earlier roles at TekSystems and 3-Dimensional Services Group developed his technical foundation in application development, business intelligence, and infrastructure.

What makes Jeff distinctive is his people-first approach to inherently technical challenges. He excels at translating AI-enabled data governance, NIST compliance, and EU AI Act requirements into strategies that executive stakeholders understand and teams can execute. Whether working in Waterfall, Agile, or Design Thinking frameworks, he focuses on outcomes that are both scalable and audit-proof.

Jeff holds a Master of Science in Information Systems Technology from the University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School and a B.S. in Computer Science from Wayne State University. His recent certifications in agentic AI transformations position him at the forefront of where data governance meets artificial intelligence. At Ember Group Consulting, he advises C-suite and executive leadership on enterprise data strategy amid increasing regulatory complexity and AI adoption, translating technical requirements into business imperatives that drive both compliance and competitive advantage.
